Triangle Lactation Consultants is a home based business in North Raleigh, North Carolina, operated by me, Ann Conlon-Smith, board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) and leader of a breastfeeding support group for over 15 years. Most importantly, I am the mother of six sons, all of whom were breastfed, including my youngest, twins.
I have been passionate about breastfeeding for 22 years since I nursed my first child. The health benefits for mother and baby are magnificent, the bonding is incomparable and a breastfeeding mom is empowered for life! Breastfeeding moms are connected to their babies in an amazing way and get to know their baby's every need. Breastmilk is a living substance and changes according to the way a baby sucks, the age of the baby, the time of day, etc. No formula in a can, on a shelf does anything like that. It is, what it is. Formula fed babies have more frequent ear infections, higher rates of childhood cancers, more respiratory infections and diarrheal illness, lower IQ scores, and other disadvantages than breastfed babies.
Not all breastfeeding experiences are perfect from the start and sometimes devices and/or intervention can make a huge difference. Working moms benefit greatly from the use of a good double electric pump. We can help you with most breastfeeding difficulties either with a consultation or by offering the pumps and accessories, pillows, slings, herbals, and books we carry.

I-540 to Falls of Neuse exit
Straight across Falls of Neuse onto Thorpshire Drive
First left onto Carrington Drive.

I-540 for one exit to Falls of Neuse
Right turn at exit onto Falls of Neuse
into left lane to left turning signal
onto Thorpshire Drive
First left onto Carrington Drive

From I-440 Beltline
Exit at Wake Forest Rd and head NORTH
Pass Duke Raleigh Hospital
Stay in left lanes so that you do not end up on Wake Forest Rd,
but instead come onto Falls of Neuse Rd.
You will be driving approximately six miles north of 440.
When you get to the intersection of Falls of Neuse and Strickland (at the Lazy Boy store)
you will have one more mile. Stay on Falls of Neuse for two more traffic lights.
At the second light (intersection of 540) you will make a right onto Thorpshire Drive
and first left onto Carrington Drive to #1875.
